"In him was life, and that life was the light of men. 5 The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not overcome it." (Jn 1:4–5)

"For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. 6 For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ." (2 Co 4:5–6)

"Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life" (Php 2:14–16)

Church: This is our moment to shine! Three steps:

  1. Have peace in your own heart through Christ: Philippians 4:6-7 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
  2. Call, text, facetime, message, or (google)hangout with people who have had to isolate themselves. Help them remember good things, pray positively, and speak of hope.
  3. Don't hoard anything: instead share hope, love, faith and toilet paper! Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good! (Romans 12:21) You are shining!

Shine with the love that you've been shown
Shine the love of Jesus, go and make it known.
Shine into the hearts of people 'round you
Show the world what Jesus can do.
CH: Shine, like the morning sunrise
Like the moon in starry skies
Let your love shine around.
