Luke 24

The Resurrection and Appearances.

Praise: Holy! Holy! Holy! The testimony of the women was too good to be true! You have conquered sin and death, and you have returned to your friends! Great is your power and grace. Wonderful Saviour, Mighty God! Living Lord! You are still found among your people when we worship and break bread together. Prince of Peace! You are truly alive, your body restored, and more – you are the first to gain a body that will never age, deteriorate or fail, the first born from among the dead. Risen, beautiful Saviour1

Thanks: You have taught us and renewed us in your resurrection; you open the scriptures to us, and give us peace. You have filled us with immeasurable joy, and sent us into the world to proclaim your glory!

Confession: Today it is enough to say that you are great, you are above all things. We confess you as Lord! We confess you as Saviour! You are righteous in all you do, perfect in your saving power. Glory to your name.

Asking: May all the world know you in your glory

The Ascension:

Praise: “God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of the fact. Exalted to the right hand of God, he has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now see and hear. 34 For David did not ascend to heaven, and yet he said, “ ‘The Lord said to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.” ’(Acts 2:32–35 NIV)

“Christ Jesus, who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?” (Ro 8:34–35 NIV)

On Monday, we will begin the Gospel of John.
